With Jesus in Temptation

The Father's chosen child,
His treasure and His own,
Is driven by the Spirit's lead,
Is driven into deepest need.
His help is God alone.

Soon hungers come to call
As weakness grows within.
Look up to God when need is great,
Look up to God and humbly wait.
Put all your hope in Him.

The way is long and hard,
And all seems insecure.
Don't come to God with loud demands
But simply trust Your Father's hands.
His grip is kind and sure.

The Tempter holds the prize
One compromise away.
Still look to God. Don't turn aside!
The road to death is smooth and wide.
With Jesus watch and pray.

Resist when first you hear
Sin's charming call within.
Draw close to God, and He draws near.
Draw close- your Lord is always here.
Just keep your eyes on Him.
